Man, the last couple of days have been interesting. Everyone in my apartment has decided to read The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons, two books by Dan Brown dealing with Robert Langdon and his two chronicalled adventures. Of course, they were looking at me, wondering why I didn't read them yet. Well, Saturday at around 1 I picked up Da Vinci code, and proceeded to read the book until 8 pm, then I picked it up at 12 midnight again and finished the book at around 1 - 1:30 am. It was a good book. The reason I put it down at 8 was because I went to a Halo 2 tourney at the HUB that started at 10. I got to the third round, so I felt I did ok. Anyway, fast forward to Monday. After classes, I came home, and went to sleep. I woke up at around 7pm, then found Angels and Demons. Well, I went on a reading spree and read through that and found that it was 7am. Again, a good book. Of course, I didn't go to class on Tuesday, instead opting to sleep immediately after finishing reading. My friends up here were amazed that I could concentrate on books so much, and it got me thinking. I should have been some sort of historian, or scholar or something. I have a good attention to detail, and I'm able to sit through books and read through them. I dunno, maybe its a missed opportunity. Whatever.

| Stop Hitting yourself |

Today, cloning seems to be a serious subject. People for cloning claim that people will be able to get any organs that they would need, or maybe you could clone yourself so you would live for ever and ever. People against cloning usually claim that scientists are playing God, and in a way, they may be. However, no one has really tackled the big issue.
If you were cloned and your clone was the same age as you, could you beat him/her up in a fight?
Now, everyone has at least heard of Six Days, which is that crappy ARNOLD movie where he's cloned then two Arnolds get to blow things up, blah blah blah. Well, movies are crap, so lets throw out all movie instances of clone fighting.
Ok, so there you are, and some scientist/magician/alien has provided you with a clone of yourself, and now you have to fight. What do you do? If you know a form of fighting like Karate or some sort of Army combat, do you use that to your advantage? And if you try, won't your clone try to do the same thing also?
If you think thats bad enough, what if your an ill tempered, never give in psycko like myself? Would I have to fight my clone for eternity, getting angrier and angrier at it until we both destroyed each other in a flurry of fists and elbows? I'd probably do that, or just break down in a fit of laughter before I threw a punch due to the ridiculousness of the whole thing, and I'd hope my clone would too. Then we'd play Smash Bros. Melee and both suck at it horribly, and then we'd both throw our controllers, look at each other, and laugh.

What have I been doing...
1) Procrastinating schoolwork by playing video games and write blog journal entries.
2) Playing Video Games
2a) Diablo II, a lot
Yea, I'm playing Diablo II again. As with all blizzard games, my interest in them wanes and waxes with the seasons. Spring and Summer are always Diablo II, and Starcraft gets fall and winter. Its weird that way.
Other than that, I'm as lonely as ever. We had a party in our apartment the other night (of course, I really didn't participate in the drowning my sorrows in kegs of beer part) and it was ok. The man to woman ratio was about 10:1, so it wasn't really interesting. If I wanted sausage, I'd go to the supermarket, thank you.

That is a blog about dating by Steve Sokolowski. Why do I link here? I dunno. I really don't expect a reaction either way. I wouldn't peg him as the one to ask about dating, but at the same time my batting avg is .000 with no at bats, no runs, no hits, and no errors, so who am I to say who is or isn't qualified. I post on there every once in a while, trying to play counterpoint. I like arguement.

I was sick. Sicker than a dog. I couldn't do anything, but I tried to go to class anyway but I just stood there like a zombie trying not to look too sick.

Why? Is it the cold, or the classes, or what?
No, its the fact that while everyone can seem to have a good time getting drunk off their ass for three to five days outta the week, I'm stuck here virtually alone writing into this journal. I can't wait to graduate, so I can be alone at home instead of being alone up here.

THE EAGLES BEAT THE FALCONS!!!
Now, I know everyone knows this and we are all pumped, but I'm kinda not as pumped as I thought I would be. First, the Steelers lost, and I was pulling for them, and second, I wasn't around a lot of Eagles fans around here to cheer with. But all the same, I'll be in Philly for the super bowl!!!

Just a funny little ancedote from the christmas break, for everyone except Ben, Matt, and Paul.
When driving home one night, I was in the back seat of rob's car with mike in the front. We were going down 611 and we just passed Target when I had the bright idea to send a message to Ben, Matt, and Paul, who were in another car driving behind us.
I told Rob to let those guys pass, and as they did, I mooned the crap outta them. Oh yea, 40 miles per hour with my bare ass hanging out the window in January.
It was a proud day for all involved.
This semester is kinda quite right now, like a snake in the grass. Its just sitting there waiting for me to let my guard down, then WHAM, I'm going to get bit. But I am ever vigiliant.
Also, in the world of comics, I bought a hellblazer trade paperback. With all the hype about Constatine (the movie with Keanu Reeves, who has about as much character as a piece of particle board), I wanted to see what the comic was like. My impression, humorous, dark, and thought provoking. Excellent read if you get a chance.
Does anyone read this? If so, post an reply, even if you don't have a username here are livejournal! You don't have to say anything, just post something, just so I know people pass by here.

Salutations, friends.
Where do I start? First, I say forgive me for not updating sooner, so I will start from Christmas break.
Played poker 3 times, won twice. I like me them odds.
The whole "make a gameboy game" project seems to be withering. But I hold out hope. I dunno why I don't work on it. Sam, if you read this, get on my case about it. And Justin or anyone else from last year, I've given up on that particular project, sorry!
I plan on writing a different program as well. It will be a toolset for roleplaying. I plan on having it deal with Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, since it is my favorite system so far (makes the most sense to me, d20 seems too random), but I will not limit its abilities to just d6 and percentile rolls. Ideally, it will have a dice roller, and various tools like Dungeons and Dragons and Warhammer Fantasy character sheets, with options to roll up random ones, and, if I'm really ambitious, a dungeon/world map editor. Of course, this will be the 100000000 th one of these programs, but whatever. I'm the best.
On sadder news, I feel like this semester will test me like never before. My last semester has me...
1. Doing patent research on inventions created here at Penn State
2. Writing various compiler components
3. Testing and retesting code
4. Writing up the business plan for a new business (for real, like I was going to run it, holy crap!)
But let us remember, I'm the best.
On orc'ier news, I'm buying fantasy Orcs and Goblins. W00t!!! I've always liked them, but now I really am acting on the Waaggghhhh. I've decided my Orc Shaman is also an Orcy philosopher who quotes:
"The WAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHH is in your mind..."
Yea, deep stuff. Except that no one really pays him any mind until green magic energy starts shooting out his mouth. Then they pay attention. My dwarves are kinda pissed, but I tell them to simmer down. They are still my favorite, but I wanted a different flavor of army, and I chose Green. (Yea, now there are two things that taste green, NyQuil, and orcs)
Anything else? I dunno. You tell me.

Well, those stupid dwarves were complaning about being cooped up in their case, unpainted, so I let the out. Now, when I look at their unpainted plastic bodies, I was disgusted with their primered uniform look. So now they are being painted. Hurrah and stuff.
I know I haven't been on aim for a while, so what. I'm here now, so talk to me people.

| Raquetball |

I probably spelled Raquetball wrong, but thats not the point. I've started playing it every once in a while. It is both a good aerobic workout and a fun time. I would suggest anyone who has spare time and free facilities to try it out.
I'm gonna make a return trip to Philly soon! I hope I can run into everyone when I'm down there. Primarily, however, I'm going down to load up on hobby supplies. Why not go to the guy up here and get supplies? To make a long story short, the guy up here is the biggest douche ever. If you like your local hobby store, you'll love it once you meet a guy like him. If you wanna hear more about it, IM me cause I ain't going into it here.
I bought a ticket to the Grand Tournament yesterday. I'm gonna bring my 2000 pts of dwarves, and I know I'm just setting myself up for disapointment. Oh well, I can't win if I never play...
How many people actually read this? I know Dave, Mike, and Diante have glanced at it, but I don't know if anyone else has. Its not really important, but I need self esteem. If you could send it in small, portable little packages, that would be great.

| What to do |

I'm being threatened with junkmail if I don't update, so now I must. My dwarves are not getting painted, no matter how much I yell at them, and its pissing me off. Aikido is also frustrating, because it always feels that the instructor is looking down on you every time he does a move and you fuck it up. Thats ok, I'm sticking with it, and by Spring, I mess anyone up who steps to me (right, and you can learn lifes secrets by age 10 if you read Dr. Seuss).
I'm trying to start up a gba game again. Last time I tried helping Justin with his project, but I failed. I hope he gets his project off the ground. But in the mean time I will try my best to learn how that little piece of crap works.
Should I make my own webpage, instead of this livejournal crap? It maybe a good idea, but I feel it to be a waste of time......

Apparently my group and I are almost done with our 411 project! Hurray for no more work for a while. Sleep is good. I swear these will get better with time.
Also, I know thon does good work and all for the children with cancer, but seriously, I really dislike what they did, with their annoying pep rally brain washing. The children must be helped, but at what price I ask? |
